Michael Andrew Fox is a Canadian-American actor. He is recognizable for the ”Back to the Future film trilogy”. He is also the founder of the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help with the research and find the cure for Parkinson disease.
Fox was born on June 9, 1961, he starred in his first role in the 1980 comedy Midnight Madness. In 1982, Fox starred in his first sitcom Family Ties which aired on NBC for seven seasons. The sitcom was a commercial success, Fox got three Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe in 1989.
In 1985, Fox was offered the lead role of Back to the Future, the film grossed $381 million worldwide and was on No 1. at the box office for eight weeks. This gave him a “Teen Idol” status, he went on to star in other movies like Teen Wolf, Casualties of War, The Secret of My Success, Doc Hollywood and The Hard Way.

In 1991, Michael J. Fox felt a twitching on his little finger, he was diagnosed with an early-onset Parkinson’s disease. He went public about his condition in 1998 and has spearheaded campaigns and fundraisers to help with research to find the cure for Parkinson’s disease. Fox managed the condition and went on acting till 2020 when he retired due to unreliability of his speech. Fox is alive but keeps a low profile due to his increased symptoms.
